about

This album was born in 2019. Sandeep Mishra and Shyan Kishore reunited after many years in Koh Samui, Thailand. They stayed in the Kamalaya resort where they had the opportunity to rediscover their musical connection. A connection that reflects a pure and stable friendship that has continued since their first meeting in 1996.
In love with their own choice of instrument as well as each others, they are easily able to explore the possibilities of how to weave the tonal qualities of each instrument into a rich union of mesmerising sound.
Supported by their common understanding of the language of North Indian Classical music, they are fortunate enough to already be established on the same level of communicative potential.
There never seems to be any feeling of competition between them. Just simply a feeling that they are walking together side by side and pulling one another by the hand of inspiring musical expressions. In this manner musical ascent and expansion is easy and comfortable. Each can feel supported and able to breath into the space that animates sound into life and flight. It is a rare and refreshing attitude toward music as a collaborative duo. An opportunity to maintain a sense of remaining rooted in the feeling a devotional prayer, rather than hunger for attention and personal acceptance from the audience.
In this state music can pass through and between each musician freely unhindered and uncontrolled. It this way it's own divine intelligence can come into activation and serve to guide us all back home into the heart and source of all creative expression.

Thank you very much to Masha for accompanying us as a truly wonderful friend and musician. Masha is firstly a dancer of Kathak and Bollywood.
She accompanied us with the ancient drone instrument known as the tanpura. Her devotional love for the music that played it's self through us seemed to have been nurtured further into it's potential by her warm, kind heart and appreciative attention.
